What is a "Midlife Celebration?"
When we reach...a certain age, and we do certain things to enjoy ourselves, we are often accused of having a "Midlife Crisis."
"What kinds of things?" you say. Well, I'm glad you asked. Perhaps you are taking up a sport or a hobby that you used to love, but you haven't participated in for years because you took time out of your life to raise a family and/or build your career. Now that your children are grown, or mostly grown, you are taking more hard earned time off at work and are squeezing some time in for yourself. What a concept? But, How is that a "crisis"?
Perhaps you've always wanted a tatoo, a pet snake or wanted to learn how to hang glide. Now is the perfect time! Again, this is not a "crisis" anymore than enjoying time with your grandchildren is a crisis!
Marrying someone 10 years younger...and it's your 3rd time around, but you are truly happy for the very first time...time to celebrate!
I find that the ones that ask us if we are having a "Midlife Crisis" are either those that are a generation (or two), behind us and for some reason want us to sit in a rocking chair and behave ourselves (lots of luck!) or, they are our peers but they are in a rut that they are afraid to step out of and, on some level, (either conscious or subconscious), are profoundly jealous of those of us that are living life to it's fullest.
"Don't be afraid if things seem difficult in the beginning. That's only the initial impression. The important thing is not to retreat; you have to master yourself."

A whole new, and much improved website! What was once called:
Celibate in the Suburbs™!
is now
"A Midlife Celebration!"
Let's face it, the original name brought up too many questions and actually struck fear into the hearts of many. When I started receiving emails from nuns and priests commending me for promoting celibacy, I knew the humor in the name was lost on many!
We have had our share of "gliches" getting this site off the ground and running the way I would like it to run so I am revamping the whole site.
Thank you to my many faithful readers who have believed in me all along!
Very shortly, this will be the orgasmic site it was meant to be! Oh yeah, that's right, I totally went there...
"I live by this credo: Have a little laugh at life and look around you for happiness instead of sadness. Laughter has always brought me out of unhappy situations. Even in your darkest moment, you usually can find something to laugh about if you try hard enough."
